A Paul Jones, Mixers, and Elimination Dances

The following information is from the 1968 4th edition printing of Dance A While by Jane Harris, Anne Pittman, and Maryls Waller.

I’ve chosen the following pages to provide readers the opportunity to learn a variety of methods to introduce some social mixers into their dance parties. I recommend a game, mixer, or elimination dance after every fifth song minimum. Having scoured through many dance programs through the years I find the average ratio was four songs between mixers. The mixers are meant to liven up the affair and get everyone involved and introduced to others, ice breakers of sorts for social dances.
